Meet me Behind the Lens
Hey it’s me,
Cherie Pearson
Just Me
Hey, from behind the lens! As you can guess from my creative business name, I'm Cherie Pearson (pronounced Sha-ree), but I answer to any version you call me. I'm a lover of all things sweet and carb-filled—bread, candy, and cookies are my go-to treats.
I tied the knot with my hubby back in 2006, and we call Enoch, Utah our home (it's in Southern Utah near Cedar City, for those who haven’t heard of it).
Photography Journey
My journey into photography began with a heartfelt purpose. Facing infertility struggles, my husband and I started saving up for InVitro, and it was during this challenging time where my photography business found its start. Each click of the camera became not just about capturing moments for others, but a step forward into building our own family and memories.
While I dabbled in a few formal photography classes in the past, most of what I know comes from hands-on experience, online tutorials, and a healthy dose of self-teaching. I've always been a sucker for anything creative, whether it's designing or diving into some good old DIY projects. You know, the classic "Why buy it when I can make it?" philosophy, even if it ends up costing me four times as much in craft supplies and a million hours to make.
My Family Life
After a rollercoaster ride with infertility and pregnancy losses, we were blessed with three amazing kiddos who keep us on our toes. I love watching each of them learn and grow into awesome little people. Let me be real though, Balancing family, a day job at a local bank, and this photography business has been no small feat. There have been hurdles and personal trials that made it tough to keep up with my photography goals over that past few years. But ultimately, what keeps me snapping pics is that it’s my happy place, something that brings me joy and fulfillment—it's the thing I do just for me.
In a Nutshell
So, that’s me in a nutshell. I'm blessed with an amazing family and a journey full of twists and turns. I began my career as a draftsman, designing and drawing houses while studying engineering. Eventually, I found myself working at a local bank, where I’ve been for the past 12 years. Along the way, my passion for photography blossomed into a business that I truly love.
